BenBaun Reflections

Not many people see this photograph. Why ? because they are too busy looking at Kylemore Abbey (along the N59 between Letterfrack and Leenaun, Co. Galway) in the other direction.
The image was taken from the bridge just passed the entrance to Kylemoe Abbey early one morning. It had been raining very heavy and when the rain storm passed every thing went calm. Out with and camera and tripod quickly before the clouds covered the sun’s rays.

Live Yosemite Web Cam Views

The Yosemite Association (which I am a Member) website www.yosemite.org has a Virtual Yosemite section which has Live webcam feeds from around the park. The website also has “Timelapse Webcam Movies” including Moon Rise, Stormy and Cool Clouds.
I am in the process of planning a 3 week photo holiday in Yosemite in 2010. Yosemite and Ansel Adams are the biggest influences in my photographic career to date. I have a big collection of books and maps about the park which form part of the planned holiday for what, where and when to photograph.

Mountains, Lakes and Rivers.

Inverbeg Lough

This image is part of my Mountains, Lakes and Rivers Gallery on http://www.nmsphoto.com website.
It’s from a place called Turlough, Connemara, Co. Galway along the R340. Again while on a family holiday out for a drive from Galway to Clifden along the coast roads. We had magic weather that day and the clouds played ball for me. I think it took us about 4 hours to travel 60km’s as I was stopping every few kilometers to take photo’s of the wonderful landscape.
The back drop for this image was The Maumturk Mountains and The Twelve Bens with the vast lowland of lakes and forests from Connemare making up the foreground.

I will be starting of my travels again this year with a 2 day visit again in Galway at the end of January. So lets hope the weather is good so that a few more new images can be added to my Gallery section.
